Welcome to Arizona, where it's HOT HOT HOT!!!

Hello from beautiful Williams, Arizona!
Wow was yesterday awesome. We took off from the airport in Minneapolis right on time and landed in Phoenix after about 3 hours. As we were landing the pilot said that it was 101 degrees! Crazy! We made our way up to Lost Canyon camp, and after a quick stop at McDonald's and 7000 feet in elevation we made it only to be welcomed with a bang! There was a ton of people cheering and the music was going...in true Capernaum style, we had a dance party right there...I could tell instantly that this is going to be one of the best weeks of our kids' lives!

The view of camp from where we got off the bus...we have it rough this week hey??
You can see that striped bag looking thing in the middle...that would be the blob! None of the kids have tried it yet but when they do I will be right there with video! These guys are like kids in a candy shop, it's great!

After the dance party they announced that there was free ice cream for everyone, so we obviously had to go check it out!

We went to check out our cabins...they are SO nice! The middle one is where the guys are staying all week
The girls hanging out watching the boys play some yard games
Finally it was time for dinner...we were all getting pretty hungry at this point after a long day of traveling (which everyone handled like champs I must add:). The dining hall here is beautiful as well...it's so cool to see a different camp, though I must admit it does feel a litle weird.

Again, in typical Young Life fashion, the spread was D-Licious!
We feasted on lasagna, salad (and great ranch dressing of course), awesome bread and...THE BIG COOKIE!!! Alright, so it wasn't a full blown big cookie, but it was pretty close. For all of you readers that have had kids go to Castaway you might know that the big cookie is the dessert highlight of the week...it was pretty sweet to get it on the first night:)

After that we headed to yet another mini dance party and then off to club. The speaker here seems great and I think everyone is going to love learning from her. Of course there was some awesome worship and EVERYONE was dancing like crazy. Here is one of the more tender moments...I think it's safe to say that Brandon and Tom are getting along just great:)

I couldn't believe that our whole group was still going strong after that extremely full day of travel. So that's about it for day one. It's just about time to start day two and get the kids up and moving! We'll update soon!
